Parasols

My crochet passion is making mandalas for parasols. I love the math involved in figuring out my own patterns!

These parasols come in a range of sizes: 48", 33", 30", or 12" when fully opened.

  • 48" frames have automatic openers, crook handles, with both wood and brass details
  • 33" frames have manual openers, straight handles, and bamboo details
  • 30" frames have manual openers, crook handles, and plastic details
  • 12" frames have manual openers, crook handles, and plastic details

Each parasol takes 7-9 days to make because of time spent blocking each mandala and assembling each frame. 12" parasols take 2-3 days to make.

My frames are not repurposed umbrellas - those break too easily under the weight of 700+ yards of yarn.
